The Trisselwand towers above the lake Altausseer See, especially for climbing a particular challenge.
For hiking the path from the "Tressensattel" (between Altaussee and Grundlsee) is suitable and reachable on average in about 2 hours.
Directions:
Starting at the Tressensattel you always have to follow the signs first over a meadow, than through a forest, via fields of pine and of course across country.
Soon you will have a breathtaking via view to our region Ausseerland - Salzkammergut and further to the Dachstein, and other mountains.
Variation for advanced hikers:
- Starting from Bad Aussee or Altaussee via the Tressensattel and further to the Trisselwand.
- Just before the peak futher to the Albert Appel-Haus
Tip:
The Trisselwand is the first mountain, which is passable after winter and sometimes even throught the entire year. As long as there is not to much snow and on the south side it is thawing.
Firm, high footwear (climbing boots) with gaiters.
