Another possible route would be straight from Grundlsee along the river cycling downstream to Bad Aussee.
Reaching Grundlsee at the Seehotel you have turn left upwards in direction to Altaussee. Reaching Altaussee you might take a rest before you carry on heading to the pasture called "Blaa Alm".
After taking a break in the nice tavern a graveled road will take us to our final aim, the town Bad Ischl. Following the signs we are passing this nice area, called "Rettenbachtal", until we reach after a tunnel the mountain pasture "Rettenbachalm". Be careful of big gravel and crushed rocks. As well as blind bends and possible opposing traffic, sometimes including cars, shall be taken into account.
Leaving the "Rettenbachalm" we reach quite quickly finally the town Bad Ischl.
