Trail "Herrenweg"

Starting place: 4824 Gosau
Destination: 4824 Gosau

Hiking on Herrenweg in Gosau is a unique nature experience. This panoramic mountain trail takes you from the picturesque Gosau church district up to the Zwieselalm with its rustic alpine huts and imposing Gosaukamm. At the end of the hike you will find the Lake Gosau and Dachstein at your feet!

Hike on the trail "Herrenweg" to the Gosaukamm

The 10 kilometer long Herrenweg in Gosau at Dachstein leads up to the Zwieselalm at around 1 500 m above sea level. The hike is, despite the alpine situation, a simple hike, suitable also for families. On forest roads, hiking trails and wood trails, the path winds through the forest landscape above the idyllic Gosau valley.

Hiking up to the Zwieselalm in Gosau

Behind the chapel on Calvary starts the Herrenweg. Through the forest it goes on the trail 611 in direction Zwieselalm to about 1 500 m. Again and again, there are great views of the beautiful Gosau valley and cozy rest areas. On the way, the cable cars "Hornspitzlift" and Gosaukammbahn cross each other. A nice tour from the valley to the Zwieselalm.

The long-distance hiking trail Salzalpensteig also runs along the Herrenweg.

You can also start the hike at the Gosaukammbahn and start the trail in reverse.
