The small white chapel which is surrounded by trees is located on a small hill in the village Thalham.
St. John's Chapel is located at the foot of the Ahberg, just to the right after the village of Thalham. It is the oldest place of worship in the area of the parish of St. Georgen. The apse and choir date back to Romanesque origins. The chapel was demolished in 1827 and rebuilt on the Romanesque remains in 1911. Excavations by the Federal Monuments Office only recently uncovered the remains of an old monastery.
