Around 1.2 million guest arrivals and approx. 5.5 million overnight stays per year secure the Salzkammergut one of the leading positions in Austrian tourism. 
Salzkammergut Tourismus-Marketing GmbH was founded in July 2002. It acts as a cross-provincial holding organisation for the 8 regions (Attersee-Attergau, Ausseerland Salzkammergut, Bad Ischl, Dachstein Salzkammergut, Fuschlseeregion, Mondsee-Irrsee, Traunsee-Almtal, Wolfgangsee) in the Salzkammergut.

The main tasks of Salzkammergut Tourismus-Marketing GmbH include classic consulting services, destination development and strategic positioning of the Salzkammergut brand as a year-round destination. 
In addition to providing the services described above for the partners listed, STMG also manages and supervises various consulting and research projects for different clients.
